1 Some info regarding Loyalty Programme/Auras on Wed Jun 29, 2011 11:01 am

Phenix

Just to summarise some info I got so far:

The Loyalty Programme, does not count how loyal you were, it only start counting since the update. This means every single player will start off with 500 points and accumulate from now onwards (lame? yea i know)

If you activate an Aura and then remove it, you will lose the effect and you have to wait for the cooltime to finish.

Now regarding the use of each Auras:

Oddball - only for looks, does nothing.

Poison Purge - pretty straightforward.

Friend in Need - although it says 12 seconds, people reported that it only really last for around 5-10 seconds. Can only work during combat, otherwise Pete will just tele away. Does not work for bosses.

Knock-out - people has reported that the guarantees blow only kicks in when the monster is under 10% of its max hp. Say a monster has 900hp, this means the effect only works if the monster is under 90hp, and then you will guarantees to hit the remaining hp of that monster on your next attack and thus killing it.

Runic Accuracy - straightforward.

Sharpshooter - same as above.

Call of the Sea - people has reported that this has little to no effect on the speed at catching fish.

Reverence - this effect gives an "invisible +2 prayer bonus" and increase the prayer restoration from prayer pots/ect by 10%. This means at 99 prayer, a regular prayer potion would heal 31 prayer points will now heal 34 (31 x 1.1) prayer points. And how much would this +2 prayer bonus do? Roughly this could slow down the draining rate of the prayer you are using by 0.2 seconds (for popular prayer like prot melee). Say the Protection from Melee drains prayer at 1 points per 3 seconds, this will now become 1 point every 3.2 seconds.

Surefooted - straightforward

Jack of Trades - no-one has this yet, so can't tell how much bonus xp we can gain.

END NOTE:

If you look closely at the icon of each Aura (shown in the KB), each of them has a red dot at the corner. Every Aura except Jack of Trades has the red dot at top left corner. Jack of Trades has 2 red dots at its top left corner and top right corner. This is the indication of the TIER of the Aura, 1 dot means tier 1, 2 dots mean tier 2 ect, and you can see there are 4 dots available. In the future we could get up to tier 4 Auras.

Personally, I haven't spent any points yet, the discount will last for 2 weeks anyway, and who knows what Jagex would do to nerf/upgrade them in the next update, so think carefully before spending the points.

Thanks for the info.

I really have no.. enthusiasm for even attempting to play with them at all. >_>

Just another way for Jagex to cash in, in my opinion.

The first 500 will not change the time it takes to get that title if you stay a member for the entire time.

I spent my first 500 on the best deals because that's the smart thing to do.

Yeah, I did what 414 did,

Theres only really a few things out of eveything that I want, mainly the levitate and a few other emotes. I spent this months stuff and then I'll buy the stuff I want next time and then I might just save till tier 4 auras come out if they do.

Might get Knock-out aura, sound good in boss fight. Can kill Nex when its down to 3000HP in 1 hit? lol

From what I can tell, knock-out only works for the final 100lp. There's a visual for when the aura effect takes place, and so far this has only come up for hits under 100lp. Tested vs Graardor.

Even so, I have no regrets getting that aura. It would be more beneficial to maulers, I imagine, as hitting consecutive 0s on a near-redbarred boss must get very frustrating. It's not game-changing, but certainly helpful. Not surprising if this is indeed a tier 1 aura.

Shad there's probably someone with it already.
Pretty sure you get more points for each month you buy at the time you pay for it.
So if you buy 12 months in 1 go, you get 12 months worth of points. Am I right?
That's the only way I can see how some people have the stuff that is worth more.
Someone will have spent all their money on membership just for the crap.

No Psp, the points only get added every month you are a mem, so anyone who signed up on the 28th June will get their next lot on the 28th July. It has nothing to do with buying a 12 month membership card in 1 go.

Some of the items are on sale for the first two weeks of the updates.

I thought I saw some people with stuff that costs more than 500 though.

People probably somehow got glitched amounts initially, I wouldn't put it passed Jagex.

Wonderful. Neutral that is probably true though.

Phenix

Yes I heard that too, a handful amount of people has over 500 points, most likely from glitches.
