Hello everyone!

Today see's the launch of a new feature on the forums, The "Points" system!


What does it do?

The "Points" system will be replacing the "Post Count" system. The "Points" system will accumilate points depending on how many days you have been a member on this forum and also how many posts you have made and where you have made those posts.

The points will vary depending on which part of the forums you are in and starting a new topic is worth more than posting a reply, slightly obvious I would have imagined but still wanted to point it out.

We aren't going to mention what areas are worth more points than other because we wan't it to be a background part of the forums rather than a "Let's spam this section and get over 9000! Points".

The "Points" system is still being developed to even out the values given in each area of the forums and might change slightly over the up comming weeks.


What about my post count from the old forums?

At the moment, It is being discussed what will happen with the old post count. We have the ability to edit peoples "Point" count so we are looking at adding it onto that. We are also looking at equating your post count and replacing it with a substitute value of points. It is undecided yet what will happen to your post count but we are looking into solutions and will update you once something has been confirmed.



Update:

It has now been renamed to "Forums Points" because not only does it accumilate post count, you will recieve one point for every day you have been a member of this forum even if you do not post something every day.

All areas have been set so that you gain +1 point for creating a thread or making a reply apart from a few where they have been adjusted to encourage people to use the area more. I shall let you work out those for yourselfs

Be aware however, If this system is abused. It can be closed and numbers can be modified/reset.

So I find a suitable solution to make you happy and then you go and moan...same for you Cyrus...

You ask for post count back, I find a similar idea and then you still moan.

Just posting an update here to notify everyone that all current accounts on this forum have had their forum points value adjusted to include post count from the last forums.

There is also a list of names who didn't have an account on the old forums or those who didn't post on the old forums and therefore didn't get an update to their forums points value.

So my old forum count doesn't count towards much now?

Not at the moment. I am looking into try and make the loyal member thing be based off of Forum Points rather than post count but it's proving a struggle.
